Solar Garden Lights Wholesale: Buyer’s Guide to Stake, Path and Decorative Lights

Solar Mushroom Stake Lights — photo 5

A wholesale garden lighting range is rarely built from one product type. Most buyers combine stake lights that add colour to beds and lawns, pathway lights that mark where people walk, and decorative pieces that create a focal point. Those three families look similar in a catalogue, but they differ in battery, panel, waterproof rating and how they are installed. This guide is for retailers, importers, garden centers, e-commerce sellers and regional distributors who need to choose between them. It compares real BOMATERIAL models and does not repeat the product descriptions. For the full listings and to ask about specific models, see the Solar Garden Lights category, Solar Pathway Lights and Solar Decorative Lights pages.

Solar garden stake lights

The garden stake range (BM-SG001 to BM-SG007) covers flowers, butterflies, mushrooms, animals, birds, bees and fiber optic designs. On the product pages the whole family lists a shared electrical set-up: a 2 V polycrystalline panel rated 80 to 100 mA, a 1.2 V 600 mAh Ni-MH battery, an IP65 rating and 8 to 10 hours of working time (8 to 12 hours on the flower stake). All use ground-stake installation.

For a buyer, that similarity is useful. The electronics are largely consistent across the family, so the choice is mainly about design, figurine material and how many LEDs it carries, which ranges from 1 LED on the bee and bird stakes to 6 to 20 LEDs on the mushroom stake. Lighting behaviour also varies: the bee, bird and animal stakes list steady-on with light-sensor control, while the flower, butterfly and mushroom stakes list steady-on, flashing or colour-changing options depending on version. A good first test is the flower stake (BM-SG001) and the mushroom stake (BM-SG003), which suit different shelf looks.

Solar pathway lights

The five pathway models are more varied than the stake family, because each solves a different installation problem:

  • Stake path lights (BM-SP001): a pole-style lamp of about 35 to 45 cm, in 3000K or 6000K, installed by ground stake.
  • Bollard lights (BM-SP002): a lamp head of 13 x 13 x 4.4 cm for fence posts, deck posts, gate pillars and pillar tops.
  • Lantern path lights (BM-SP003): classic, hanging, colourful and flame-effect designs on a ground or hanging stake.
  • Disk or in-ground lights (BM-SP004): low-profile units for steps, decks, driveway edges and pathway edges.
  • Motion sensor path lights (BM-SP005): 92 LEDs, a built-in PIR sensor, three lighting modes and USB backup charging as well as solar charging.

Notably, BM-SP005 is the only model in this guide that lists a lithium battery (1200 mAh); the others list Ni-MH. Most pathway models list a monocrystalline panel, unlike the stake and decorative families.

Decorative solar garden lights

The decorative category (BM-SDC001 to BM-SDC004) is built around effects rather than function: firefly lights with swaying wire stems, dandelion lights with four glowing heads at about 70 cm, flame lights with a flickering effect, and hanging lights in willow, ball, lantern, vine basket and bulb styles. All list a 2 V polycrystalline panel and a 1.2 V 600 mAh Ni-MH battery.

One point deserves attention. The firefly lights list a waterproof rating of IP33, while the other three decorative models list IP65. Check this before choosing the firefly model for exposed positions.

Materials, panels, batteries and lighting modes

Ask the same four questions about every model:

  • Materials: stake products list ABS solar panel housings with stainless steel stakes and resin, silicone, fabric or plastic decorative parts. Pathway lights range from ABS and PC to stainless steel, aluminum and glass, which affects both appearance and handling.
  • Panel: note whether the panel is polycrystalline or monocrystalline and its listed rating, since both vary by family.
  • Battery: chemistry and capacity differ between families, from 600 mAh Ni-MH on most stakes to 1200 mAh lithium on BM-SP005.
  • Lighting mode: several models use automatic light control, others offer flashing, colour changing, flame effect or motion sensing.

Waterproof ratings and outdoor suitability

IP65 is the most common listed rating across the models above. The first digit describes protection against solid objects and dust, and the second protection against water, so IP65 is rated against dust and water jets. IP33 on the firefly lights is a much lower level of protection and fits sheltered or lightly exposed spots better than open beds. Treat these as ratings listed on the product pages, and ask for a test report if your market requires one.

As illustrative examples only: stake lights suit planted beds and lawn borders, bollard lights suit posts and gate pillars, disk lights suit steps and deck edges, and hanging lights suit pergolas and trees. These are application ideas, not descriptions of completed projects.

Retail assortment and product combinations

This is an illustrative starting range, not a sales forecast:

  • Starter range: two stake designs (BM-SG001 and BM-SG004), one path light (BM-SP001), one bollard (BM-SP002) and one decorative effect (BM-SDC003).
  • Extended range: add BM-SP005 for security-minded buyers, BM-SP004 for steps and decks, and BM-SDC004 for hanging displays.
  • Display tip: group stake lights by design, and keep pathway lights with their installation type clearly labelled.

If you also plan a holiday range, our solar Christmas lights buying guide covers the seasonal side. Several garden product pages mention OEM/ODM support, for example the bee and mushroom stake lights.

  8. State quantities (at least 1 carton per model), destination and target delivery date.

When you are ready, browse the Solar Garden Lights category and send a wholesale inquiry with your model list and destination.

Frequently asked questions

Do all solar garden lights have the same waterproof rating?

No. Most listed models are IP65, but the firefly lights (BM-SDC001) list IP33, so check each model.

Can I combine stake, pathway and decorative models in one order?

Yes. The MOQ is 1 carton per model, so you can mix models from different families.

Does the lead time include shipping?

No. The 15 to 20 days applies to production after order confirmation and excludes international transportation.
